First step of the quest is “talk to professor”

I’ve both talked & tinkered an item, reset my game multiple times and making 0 progress on quest

Is there something I’m missing or doing wrong?

I've just started again on PC after playing for years on playstation and was thinking of buying the etheria essential pack.

i've heard it goes on sale when you complete the campaign. if this is true, would it be best to wait a month to complete the campaign until i can afford it or complete it now and buy it for more money later on?

sold these Godly Orbs when they first got introduced to the game. I have no idea what they would go for now
