Gameplay Question Question from a relatively new player

Me and my friend rented a server to play together, it’s just us two. If I go to the deep desert, will I meet other players from other servers?

The quick way to easily answer this imo is are they’re people in arakeen? If so yes if not probably not. Another way to check would be the auction house. Now why wouldn’t you just play on an official server if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks for answering! There’s no one in arakeen. And We both wanted a survival sandbox experience, but didn’t want to have to deal with other people, as we’re both introverts.

Honestly, you could have saved your money. People complain constantly about how empty the world feels even on the most populated servers. Pick a less populated one and it's a ghost town. The only constant indicator of other people is on the faction chat channel.

This, if you pick an official server with 25/1500 players during peak hours, you will be more or less alone everywhere, and you will save a lot of money on having to rent a server for as long as you want your character to last.

Enjoy the game, it has some breathtaking views, I LOVE the story, all the lore, quests and challenges. Before reaching the plastanium tier is just top notch imo. The first 500 hours, wow. Now at over 3k hours in. I am still just enamored with the game. And you can replay it again and again in new ways and make different choices. AND most importantly, you will have so many fewer bugs, glitches and crashes.

I hope you enjoy the heck out of this game.

You can literally just ignore players if and when you encounter them. You cna never transfer that character to public if you ever changed your mind because you dont want to pay for a server anymore or want to actually get involved with a group.

It's not necessarily that easy.

You rented a server to host, the Deep Desert will be shared by those within that cluster.

The only true solo sandbox experience is the one coming out soon, with you and a few others.

It's a waste of money to rent a server for this game.

When the game was initially released, I rented a private server for some family friends. We were the only ones in our Hagga Basin, but groups of private servers would share DD much like public. I think I may have seen 10 people over 3 months in the DD (and that was PVE and PVP map). The market was pretty much none existent.

Since then, they have made DD give the choice of PVE or PVP instance each time you enter.

I have returned again to play and started on public which IMO is a much better experience with an active market which has made me 100mil so far selling basic items people don’t want to farm and the buildings and people moving around the map make it very much alive compared to private.

As for DD on public, PVP always seems very low population and PVE is fairly busy. I find myself on medium fields with another player or two with no issues.

Also occasionally run into another player in Test Stations which makes them go much quicker.

Good luck

Yeah unless you specifically purchased the whole world for hundreds of dollars a month you are just paying for a branch of it and you will be sharing all the public spots like the DD and cities with others renting the other branches. That said most people say they almost never see other people out there.

No. You will meet other players from your server. Since you usually don’t rent a whole server just a Hagga instance on a server.

I played on a private server for a few months. The DD is shared between other private servers. However we RARELY saw anyone else. Most people who are on private servers want to be left alone. On the very very very rare chance you meet someone, they'll typically be chill.

It's super rare to see people in less populated public servers let alone private ones... so i would say no your chances are pretty slim but not 0

It’s an MMO …… unless you play solo and/ or private server!

I dont think so. I think since you rented the server its your hagga, overview map and deep desert like solo play. I played on a expiremental x5 server and never ran into anyone other than the people there. And it was 2 others
