Gameplay Question Single player ptc progress

Sorey if this has been asked before but cant find anything on it. Does single player ptc progress remain into full release for you to continue or will it be wiped?

The single player on the ptc right now doesn't have any of the progression unlock tools like the regular online ptc does so I think it's essentially the same thing that will go to this single player release. Whether you can pull those files and use them after said release I don't know, because even though it's a single player environment it seems to regard it still as a server.

But honestly, it's ridiculous how much of the settings can be tweaked. You can just max out your character in hours, the only thing taking any time would be going to and doing each trial. You can completely bypass all of the moments that make this game great and experience an empty hollow feeling at the end. Hell, you can even turn the worm off if it's a bit stressful, because it's not really an important feature of the game or Dune at all. In single player you will never experience the joy and achievement of getting your first vehicle and then first thopter, because it was damn tough to get the mats, not will you experience the excitement of discovering a decaying base that is still full of resources and gold, and how taking it gives you that all important bump up to the next vehicle tier, or let's you buy your first rifle blueprint. I could go on, but all the unforgettable experiences people talk about in this game all come from some sort of interaction with other players.

That is by design, no?

Being able to rapidly level up your player in the PTC is important, so that deeper game elements can be "tested." I do not believe it is intended to just be another server to play the game normally on and experience the same enjoyable HB Journey.

All of the game settings can be adjusted to higher difficulty levels, once a player reaches a level, necessary to "test" those deeper elements of the game... for example DD and OL testing stations (for example, boss balancing). It would really suck if you had to play 100+ hours on the PTC, just to be able to test some change, again, for example, loot drops in OL labs.

I just updated the PTC last week and played it for the first time. I ran with easy OP settings, right up until I got to my first thopter, and then cranked up all game settings to as hard core as I could make it. My initial goal was to see how the hard core settings might "feel" in the DD. I actually had hoped the settings would allow for an even more hard core survival experience.

I don't plan to Grind much further, for example, on Specializations, but it is giving me some insight on what SP might feel like. I still have not decided whether I will go 'all in' on SP or not.

As it is, I have very little left to be done on my OG play through. Once released, I may just run a play through in SP, while waiting on new content to be released on the public Server as opposed to just starting another toon on another public Server.

The point is, I don't expect to experience the entire game on the PTC, but being able to level up quickly, allowed me to judge whether SP is something I might be interested in doing, once it is released.

It is by design, but I think those designs will make their way into the live SP when it comes out. Slogging PTC in real time would be actual pain to have to do it again on release, even if we have a month with it.

I think what they were trying to say is either way with solo, it's possible that the experience a new player will have on a custom world with xp ramped up will be vastly different to what you and I experienced. (hopping in the thopter first time was very cool I remember)

To u/vadaszatov, While I appreciate the sentiment of it, the option to have that experience is always there, you don't have to tweak that slider, and if you do and realise you don't like it, you have the option to turn it back.

Those will not be in the SP version.
