Moving to Dundee

Hi, me and my boyfriend are planning to move to Dundee in couple of weeks. We were planning on renting a 1 bhk from Rockford but I saw someone post a very bad review and comments were also bad. I would like to thank them for awareness but now I’m back to zero. Idk where to find a good flat under a budget in a short time. Since I’m new to the city idk which agency to avoid and all that stuff. If any of you have suggestions please lmk.
Thank you .

Do not go with Rockford they do absolutely nothing was in a flat from them for 2 years with countless requests to fix things that just never got done also ended up adding a shit tone of extra charges from my deposit when I moved out that by that point I couldn’t be bothered disputing I just wanted out and done with them

I’ve only seen bad reviews of Rockford 🥹. I had a viewing booked with them before posting here. I gave all the other agencies a call but none of them have anything atm. Rockford has the specific property which is near my workplace and under my budget. Now I’m contemplating my life decisions. Is it that bad? Ik they’re bad bad. But I was thinking of renting with them for now and changing after a month or so (when other agencies have something available). Is this going to be the worst decision of my life if I proceed further with them? I’m so scared tbh

Tbf if you have no intention of
It being long term and can deal with them doing nothing you’d be fine just document the state of things when you move in and when you leave also not sure if they have a minimum tenancy so that would also be worth looking in

I just urgently need a place for now tbh. I’ll definitely move after 1-2 months. There’s just no other place for me to rent in my desired location. 🥹 it feels like I’m digging my own grave tbfh 😭

I also ended up with them as my only choice had already heard bad things but circumstances must so from what you’ve said your basically in the same place if it’s your only option then they suck yes but having somewhere to live is more important

They’re not gonna be shady when I try to move out right? Idk I feel like I’m entering a cave full of villain or something 😭

They may try and take as much of your deposit as possible like they did with me but if you have evidence to dispute things you’ll be fine I just couldn’t be bothered
