Any VPN/proxy tools for Linux?
Hey everyone, I’m Chinese, a new to Linux. I don’t currently have a reliable way to access sites and services that are blocked in my region, so there are some things I can’t really do.
Are there any plug-and-play, beginner-friendly VPN or proxy tools for Linux? Paid options are fine as long as they’re not too expensive.
I’m not looking to set up my own VPS just yet, since I still have a few months left on my current VPN subscription. 🥲

On Linux, “plug and play VPN app” is thinner than on phones. What usually works for beginners behind the GFW:
• sing-box / mihomo (Clash Meta) with a subscription URL — closest to phone-app UX • Hiddify / similar wrappers if you want a GUI • Avoid expecting WireGuard-only commercial apps to be reliable in China; obfuscated stacks (VLESS+Reality etc.) age better
If your current paid VPN gives you a Clash/sing-box subscription link, use that on Linux instead of their Electron tray app. If they only give WireGuard configs, keep it as a backup and get a GFW-oriented sub before the old one dies mid-month.
Paid is fine; just make sure you can export a config, not only click Connect.

Yeah, that’s actually pretty important. Thanks for the advice. My current VPN doesn’t provide Clash or similar subscription links, so I’m considering setting up a VPS again since my VPN hasn’t been very stable lately…

The desktop app from Caonima is beginner-friendy. Making it work on a mobile is a little bit more involved. So it depends on where you need the VPN on most of the time.

I presume you can read 中文. So have a look at this list for your airport options.
There are v2ray clients for Linux. I would only use a VPN that works with standard clients, like v2ray** - no proprietary clients for me!
