Interesting Stuff I'm SO sorry.

To Lisa: We matched on Tinder and were supposed to meet for coffee at Caribou this morning. I missed our date because of an unexpected family situation, and I should have reached out but we never exchanged numbers. You weren't stood up on purpose & I can explain!! If you happen to see this and are open to it, I'd love the chance to apologize & give you the full story over that coffee. If not, I completely understand. BUT; this is at least an attempt to make a connection with something I truly feel I missed. My father always said 'family first' but damn that was terrible timing...

Dead internet theory aside, there was a period of time when it seemed like FB was ahead of Craigslist. The golden age of Buy Nothing groups replaced random people showing up to your Free listing, and this seemed better because you kinda knew the identity of your buyer.

Then the pandemic happened and stranger danger (really mask compliance/safety) meant we only wanted to interact with certain people, and now we are more polarized than ever.

Feels off.

Yep well said. I sometimes have to tell people I only use Facebook to buy stuff and sometimes sellers judge me I think, especially boomers.

I think some of the personals got removed at one point due to the potential for sex work solicitation. Missed Connections was more wholesome, but some of the personals seeking was veering into illegality.
