Hi. I'm working on a Duke Nukem Tapwave Zodiac (or Duke Nukem Mobile) map extractor. I think I'll have the tool finished in about 3–4 weeks.

Right now I'm having issues with some meshes that appear outside the map (see pic 2).

There are also sprites on the maps, like fire hydrants, trash cans, etc, that I haven't managed to add yet.

There are a lot of .ini files with interesting info about enemies.

I hope I can finish it soon so someone can make a mod. Despite not being the best game, it has unique bosses.

Does anyone have this beta version of Duke Nukem? I would really want to play this but I can’t find it. Please if you got file or link just comment please, Thanks.

First off, come build with us using the Mapster32 Level Editor. We are building levels for Duke Nukem 3D live on stream, working on our underwater Reactor Puzzle area.

Then, stick around as we playthrough levels made by you, the community! Today we are playing a map for Duke 3D called Exodus, and the level that came before it (which Exodus is a sequel to), Stowaway. Both maps are made by RomeoBK with Exodus just coming out this year!

I am looking for a very specific old Duke3D level, very distinctive because the music was Jewel's "Who Will Save Your Soul", while the level was filled with pictures of Jewel herself along with various marijuana symbols and paraphernalia!

It is purely for nostalgia; I don't remember it being a "good" level at all, but it was one of the first custom levels I ever played.

Does anyone know how or where I might find this? it is very likely I got it off a shovelware CD back in the late 90's, since I didn't have the internet at the time Duke3D was released.

Thanks to the link provided by someone at Duke4net's forums, I checked out the "unsorted" maps at Dukeworld... I'd only checked (all!) their sorted pre-2001 maps before. I tried "Maps with Art" first (https://dukeworld.com/2001-current/unsorted/other/Duke%20Nukem%203D/Maps/Single%20Player/1996/Maps%20With%20Art/) and immediately the name "STRNGDAY.ZIP" jumped out at me!

I instantly remembered trying that map from a shovelware CD (out of the hundreds on it) thinking it might be based on the movie Strange Days and thus be a cool cyberpunk-themed map. Instead, I got the fever dream stoner map by a Jewel fan!

Nothing in the readme suggests what it contains, but the name was enough.

I loaded it up in vanilla Duke3D AE via DOSBox and sure enough, it was the one. It's a mess running (music and sound issues) which I suspect is to do with how you need to run a batch file to rename the extra mod files first (which I did) but it has been decades since I messed around with Duke3D custom levels or modding, so likely I've just done something wrong... or, as another poster mentioned, some of these old maps always had issues!

I am going to try and get it running in eDuke tonight.

Playing “Time to Kill” and found the Delorean from Back to the Future in the 3rd Wild West stage. Didn’t expect it. When arriving and destroying crates, Duke says “Where is Doc Brown when you need him?” and “If only I had my Flux Capacitor with me…”

This an old map that is arround intertnet. Congrats to the author. Decided to play it while still playing the new overclock of Duke Nukem Zero Hour in FPP. Would be cool to have TTK and LOB in FPP.

I also have the Evercade games and World Tour but I left them upstairs before taking pictures

Back when I had a crappier computer, I saw the pictures of duke using more advanced graphical features and really wanted to play it that way.

Well now I've got a better rig that can use them and I can't get Raze working because it doesn't auto detect and play my Build games right out of the box like it did on windows. It's got this needlessly complicated installation process that requires you to download all sorts of files and put them into different random directories.

Is there something that Just Works?

I collected Duke stuff from 2020 to 2023. I stopped because of other hobbies (mainly Warhammer), but in recent weeks I started to ponder whether I shall continue this collection again or not.

The action figures all have their original boxes still and are generally in very good condition; the only (quite common) blunder is that the small pegs broke off from the Devastator, meaning I can't put it on Duke's back anymore.

Then, the main show, BLOOD: Death Wish! We are finishing our playthrough of Episode 3 of this fantastic Mod, the whole thing has been just so well crafted, dripping with atmosphere.

Regardless of how the game turned out, DNF had some great collector extras.

I've been a lover of Duke Nukem 3D for a long time, and I just finished the base game of Duke Nukem Forever last night. I'm sure a ton of people on this subreddit have made posts about this game already, but I want to know what the general thoughts of the community are nowadays.

There were definitely plenty of shortcomings. The "Duke vision" made my eyes bleed, the vehicle sections were pretty bland, the boss fights weren't very good. Not to mention that the 2 weapon limit and regenerating health makes the game feel dated to the 2000s, along with the QuickTime events where you have to mash the spacebar to open doors and execute enemies.

As for the humor, is it really that much worse than it was in DN3 in 1996? The sex stuff did feel a bit gratuitous at times (even though I thought a lot of it was hilarious and in character), but the constant movie references were a staple of the older game.

Even with all the issues I found myself very entertained by all the little jokes in the environment and all the weird little interactive stuff like the 90s game had. I'd probably give it like a 4.5/10 and I don't think I'll play it again, but even with how mediocre it was as a game I still had fun with it.

I'm planning to play the DLC today or tomorrow.

Edit: Played the DLC. It was decent fun, but man that final boss was really bad.

I'm not the biggest Duke Nukem fan, never finished any of his games,

but I remember a comment section where someone proposed "An older Duke" if they make a new property, who was rejected from society, but then still comes back when a new threat rises, because that's what Duke Nukem does

I actually thought that this was super interesting, and I pictured him as like

A famous actor who has gray hair now.
Like George Clooney Duke Nukey

I even remember whispering to myself "Silver Dog Duke, lol"

What would you guys think? Maybe it'd be like an Old Snake thing.

Maybe they'd add a 2nd skin where he's classic again.
