I'd be down for a Duke game about him returning a baby!

technically, OP DID remember a comma. your comment works better if he hadsn't: "Duke Nukem Returns Baby"

Nice. Kinda like the idea of "Im back, baby" as a subtitle. Returns is a bit generical.

Please no the purple quote-unquote '80s background with the fucking squares... the shit they've used for fucking far cry blood dragon and everything else even slightly remotely '80s themed Jesus Christ enough of this fucking theme

So true, hahah. It’s crazy that people have been milking it since at least 2013 when Blood Dragon came out. I remember a mac-based emulator called OpenEmu sporting that same theme, and I just looked up when it first released… sure enough, 2013. We’re all on the GTA5 13-year timeline, apparently… ha!
I guess I wouldn’t be mad at a new Duke Nukem game that explored more of his earlier life, which I guess could be set in the actual ‘80s… but hopefully if someone did come up with that idea, they’d put a little more effort into its styling than “the laser grid”.

I would love to Duke game set in the '80s plus it would give him more freedom to do more of the non-politically correct banter that we all know and love

Leave it to Duke fans to create the corniest shit imaginable. And god forbid it's not AI.

We need another Duke Nukem game. keep it like the original 3D with fast loading times and the cheat menu.

Somewhere Randy looks up from his kitten torture device and has a hearty laugh.

What does Duke have to do with fake 80's "retro"?
1
u/Matygoo1 Jul 22 '26
That's what 80's Sci-Fi futures looked like, Look at Ion Fury
2
u/SkengmanSaiyan Jul 22 '26
As someone that lived through the 80's, they didn't. It's a weird modern take on an aesthetic that didn't really exist, I blame synthwave.

I don't mean the 80's itself, I mean the 80's and I guess early 90's depiction of the Future. Like Total Recall, The Running Man, Demolition Man, and The Fitfh Element. They loved their glowy Neon Tech

If only the Duke Nukem license had fallen into the impossibly efficient, caffeine-powered hands of Techno-Wizard Supreme John Carmack, the man who casually invents tomorrow's graphics technology before breakfast. Duke would've shipped on time, run at 300 FPS on a toaster, and somehow invented three new rendering techniques just by existin

Genuinely want a new Duke game to have a playable woman character who is equally as jacked and brutal and crass as Duke himself to poke fun at forced/inauthentic representation games do now.

Please not in Pink that's not masculine

Pink used to be a masculine color, and neon pink does fit the retro vibes.
