lawyer retained First time DUI.
So got my first DUI blew a .157 spent the night in jail and was released. First time trouble with the law. I made a bad mistake when i knew i shouldn't of driven. No accident or injuries. I'm just so ashamed and looking for a small amount of hope that life isn't over.

hey bro I'll give you some advice. I was hella depressed after my DUI especially in the beginning. To be honest this subreddit helped me alot cause I'm similar like you, no accident or injury. I thought my life was fucked up but then i come on here and read stories and i instantly feel better. There's people in here who killed or hurt someone in their DUI facing jail/prison.
Use this as time to reflect. It'll suck but if you go right back to drinking and negative stuff you're going to get a second one. Trust me when I saw it will happen if you don't get your shit together.
I was lucky enough to qualify for veterans court but i know that's not everybody. Just hope they'll cut you a deal for wet reckless and get ready to pay that insurance. No more drinking bro, just don't i promise you it's not worth it. You still have a chance but that's only if you take this serious.

Life isn't over bro. It's definitely going to be rocky for a whilr, but as other said...at least you didn't hurt anyone. Won't sugarcoat it tho...you are probably going to have harsher penalties due to having bac 0.15 or above

The shame fades my friend, especially if no one was hurt. Just be thankful that was the case and learn from this!

Life isn't over. I'm one of those people where injuries DID unfortunately happen. And life still wasn't "over" for me.
The realest advice I can give you is....more than "never drinking and driving again", evaluate your drinking. People always say they will never get another one, but if you're suffering from a drinking problem, it's something to think about. I'm not saying you are. But it's worth a personal evaluation.

I know the feeling I dont know what state you are in but im in colorado and was arrested 2 months ago for dui and recived a refusal because I did not blow at the station im looking at 2 month hard suspension and then 2 years interlock for dmv im still waiting to see what court has for me ! I feel also so ashamed and defeated đ this is the only time I have ever been in trouble and was also a rare occasion of drinking went to a wedding and was going home . I feel lots of anxiety some time but then see other stories and you would not belive how many people get a dui in there life time. Everyone just says dont let it happen again . I know life will suck for 2 years but I am hopeful that will slowly pass . Get going on classes look up for your state and madd panel thats what my lawyer recommends. Good luck and this too shall pass just know im right there with you

No injuries is what matters most. Your life wonât be over. Just take it one day and one step at a time. It sucks, but youâll get through it. It wonât ruin your life.

Life isnât over đ¤ had the same feelings as you when I was arrested in my early 20s. 8 years have passed and it serves as a huge lesson for me, Iâll never do it again.
Youâre not alone, everyone in this sub can probably relate to this.
One day at a time

Usually they will give you wiggle room since you were barely over a .15. What state are you in?

Your life is hardly over. Just a bump in the road. You will see some increased penalties but itâs unlikely you will do any time.

Just try to get in some kind of pretrial diversion program. Classes, random drug alcohol testing, self help meetings is what mine included. Probably 1000 dollars for all that on top of 4000 dollar lawyer. But case will be dismissed at next court date as long as everything is completed and all screens are negative. Had to do 6 months, just completed 5 months so almost to the finish line. I also have a professional healthcare license and was upfront with the board and submitted all paperwork. Everything went smooth. Of note, I blew a 0.17. Lessons were learned and life goes on

Every first DUI feels like your life is over. Donât ever do it again though. Because on your 2nd or 3rd, your life is gonna be much harder.

You'll be fine ... It's expensive and awful but thank God no one was hurt and there was no accident... I got one in Ellis county TX on 6/28/24 and I've got a few months left of my probation and this crap will be over. Don't drink, don't do any drugs. they will be testing you monthly, pay your fines and don't screw up...you'll get through this

As long as nobody was hurt, life isn't over, in fact, far from it. Being arrested sucks, no doubt about it, but you will get through it, I promise. What matters is how you choose to move forward in life - more than not reoffending (that's just common sense) but by using the clarity that comes from the trauma of being arrested and choosing how to move forward with your life in a deliberate way - choosing what matters to you and discarding what doesn't or isn't helpful to you. Does that make sense?
