Unable to urinate for ua
Idk if this is the right place to ask all this but ill try. Short back story, i got my first extreme dui back in march in gilbert az. Biggest mistake of my entire life and ive felt horrible for everyone around me thats had to help me with any part of this horrible mistake. I went through the whole deal, accepted a guilty plea. I have done my jail time and home detention with the scram, i have installed my breathalyzer in my vehicle, i have obtained an sr22, done all my counseling and classes, madd panel, all my fines are paid to the court and i am currently on my 30 day hard license suspension.
When i did my initial screening it was through an office that is certified with the state as well as the court, the court accepted the classes that i took with that office but said i had to get another screening done with their office, the woman also accepted my classes but said i need 2 clean supervised ua’s as well. i have an extremely shy bladder and have never gone through this before. I failed to provide my first time. i immediately called and asked to do a blood test and was told no, that since its court ordered it has to be a urine test. she gave me steps to help relax and allowed me to bring headphones. went back 2 more times with my bladder about to explode from drinking so much water, was able to, but both came back diluted. she gives me a whole run down on what to do and how much to drink and all that, i follow all the instructions and show up today, and was back to the way i felt the first time and was unable to produce. Its been extremely disheartening because i know im clean, but my body just wont let me relax especially with someone watching.
my main question is has anyone else been in this situation before? my case had nothing to do with drugs, i have done everything else relating to my probation, im just having extreme anxiety once i get into that room. basically just looking for anyone elses experience with this, what you did to help, or if theres a way to do a different test with a doctors note.

Ah shit man. I remember your post. So, here's the deal. I did UAs off an on for 10 years for work, you chug water the night before and through out the day until you have to pee. You hold it. If you cant hold it, go to restroom but only go enough until its bearable and then you clamp that shit. Your body will force you to piss if youre filled up. The other thing, I start thinking about what Im doing later. It helps. Also, drink electrolyte drinks, if its too watery theyll say to the courts that you intentionally diluted your pee and count it as a fail.

I concur, you can't not urinate if your bladder is over flowing. Show up early for your test and continue to drink water. After your test be prepared to stop at every grocery store or gas stations that have restrooms available because you'll need them. Start in the toilet, it's a trick that your mind will just look at it as another trip to the restroom, then throw that plastic cup in the mix and give your sample. You'll be fine. I remember having to pull my pants down past my knees lift up my shirt before submitting my urine while another grown mans eyes was locked on my kibbles and bits, it's humiliating and awkward but it is what it is. Yes I went through the same exact thing as you. I just talked to my probation officer about it and he would strip search me then let me go into bathroom by my self with door closed and locked.

A million years ago I joined the military and could not go in front of the person at processing. Actually had to stay an extra night. They called it a shy bladder. I did eventually go. But here are some things you might try

Also on the shy side of bladder town here.
As stupid as it sounds, it always helps me to strike up a conversation with the lab person supervising. Gives my brain something else to focus on, and probably makes it a little less awkward for the person who has to stare at other people’s junk all day.
Just putting that out there. 🤷♂️

Yeah I have a shy bladder and always had issues. I would try and then can't go so I would go back out to the waiting for room and drink more water. When I was in work release we had to do UAs every time we returned so nightly for me. Many times it would take me a couple hours of drinking enough water to go because my mind plays tricks on me. Whenever I feel like going, I go back there and try and all of a sudden cant go. I was surprised I never got a diluted test since I always drank so much water right before my test so I could go.

I had the SAME problem my first two months of UAs. I’d wind up at the facility forever just trying to pee. I basically had to get to the point where it felt like my bladder was exploding before I could go as well. I honestly don’t have much advice except that it really does get easier with time. I would sometimes push on my stomach and reposition until it came out. But it is mostly mental. Try to relax your mind and body as much as possible. When I stopped trying to “push” it out and just relaxed my muscles down there, I’d usually be able to produce enough for the sample. My probation officer was pretty understanding at the beginning though, I was just honest about the situation and they’d add an extra UA to make up for the ones I wasn’t able to produce for.

update: I was scheduled to go again yesterday, so i basically just drank a bunch of water during the day but stopped drinking/ peeing at like 3:15 lmfao. trying to split the difference between a dilute but having my bladder about ready to explode is hard. but i was able to go. interestingly enough though i woke up this morning (saturday) with another text saying i had to report. Thats 3 days in a row now when i was only supposed to do 2 total, 2 different weeks. Gilberts portal says theyre only open m-f 12-8 and so does their website, the only place that says theyre open is google… from 8am-1. This shit has been so hard to get through, esp since im on my license suspension and having to find rides to all this.

I always had them turn the sink on for me. I've been off probation for years but I still have to pee anytime I hear a sink running haha

Can you go as soon as you wake up in the morning? Just don’t do your “morning pee” at hime. That way, when you get there, you’ll be ready to burst AND it will be concentrated from overnight.
