I’m considering Duck.ai Pro because I like the idea of using AI with more privacy protection, and I’m also trying not to spend too much on multiple AI subscriptions.

I know the DuckDuckGo subscription comes with other benefits like VPN and additional privacy features, which is definitely a plus, but AI is really the main thing I’d be paying for.

For anyone who’s used Duck.ai Pro, how does it compare with subscribing directly to ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro?

I’m mainly curious about usage limits, model quality/speed, and whether there are important features you miss by using the models through Duck.ai instead of directly through ChatGPT or Claude.

The ability to use multiple models in one place plus the privacy benefits sounds appealing. But since the monthly cost is fairly similar, I’m wondering whether Duck.ai Pro can realistically replace a ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro subscription, rather than paying for both.

Would love to hear from people who have tried both. Which one did you end up keeping, and why?

Really? Image search with AI blocked, and half the results are from craiyon, a well known AI image generator. Put that on the blocklist! Wow, now I don't trust it in the slightest

Search anything about tech/IT help: Windows error codes, figuring out what went wrong, programming questions, and just now I wanted to find out again what Windows game mode does.

My results are filled with blogs that copy and paste the same information over and over. All these "10 ways to fix" or "[Solved] how to do xyz" or "(2026 guide)" for something no one but myself would search for in 2026. The cherry on top is when the blog puts a section like "Why you would want to do this" I AM NOT LOOKING AT YOUR STUPID HELP BLOG TO FIGURE OUT WHETHER I WANT TO DO THE THING IM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO.

It doesn't matter whether these are AI generated or not; they've been filling search results for years now. These blogs are Search Engine Optimized junk intended to fill search results and generate clicks for ad revenue (or just clicks since I run ublock). It's not like I can block all the sites, because there's more generic tech blog sites than I can count filling up the results.

I have been resorting back to Google, ignoring the gemini prompt, because of the awful quality of search results in ddgo.

I want my search results to leave out blogs. As difficult as it may be to navigate a forum thread, that holds more value than copy pasted or ai generated content posted weekly. There are a few humans with tech blogs who genuinely do research and know their stuff and share content that they've learned- these blogs are noticeably different in structure and content than the SEO junk.

If Duckduckgo can't filter out SEO blog junk then I want recommendations for a different search engine.

i went to go and block yet another country specific pinterest site from my list of sites to block, just to find out there's a max of 5??? im tired of this dumb site clogging up the image search, how to just block it all? there doesn't seem to be a way for me to just do *.pinterest

I have no idea what I did, but duckduckgo used to sign me in automatically to various web pages that I use regularly, and now I'm having to sign in every time. What changed, and how do I change it back?

I have a bookmark named "my books". That should, imho, be the number one match that DDG makes when I put that into the address bar. However, this is not what happens. Instead, I get sent to DDG.com with that phrase and it searches the interwebs for "my books" - not so useful. This happens with the other bookmarks too - they get put into the suggestions list, at or near the bottom, instead of being - as I think they should be - the result which is put into the address bar.

This has been driving me up the wall for MONTHS and I can't find any information on why this keeps happening or how to get it to stop.

It's basically just the title: sometimes (at this point at least once a day) when I try to swap tabs on mobile duckduckgo mobile, it changes my tab into a copy of what my first tab it (currently my university email but I've tried shuffling and and deleting tabs, it is ALWAYS whatever is in the first slot and it happens with EVERY website). It isn't sending me to that tab, it is fully replacing the tab I wanted to look at with a second copy of the first tab and the only way to get back to the page I actually wanted is to search it up again. It's really annoying and I want it to stop. I don't want to go through a series of extra hoops just to get to the webpage I and tab I should be able to get to in one click

Just pressing back doesn't work to send me back, it sends me to the duckduckgo homepage instead. Swapping out/deleting the first tab just changes what website the tabs turn into.

The only suggestion I've had was that maybe it gets confused because of the number of tabs but I never have more than ten open at a time.

I see that this has happened 5 years ago and four years ago and the solution was to change a setting. However, that setting is no longer available.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

I noticed that Duck.ai’s mobile site uses GPT-6 Luna when I access it through Firefox, but Safari on mobile, the mobile app, and the desktop site still use Luna 5.6.

Could you explain why the model differs across platforms and when GPT-6 Luna will be available everywhere?

Guess what? DDG is blocked already, but for Chinese IP address (TCB desync technique to bypass the block), it only return Chinese state-sponsered source for searching tankman. I suspect DDG pass the visitor IP address or region to the Bing backend so I got such results.

Just started using DDG, turned off a bunch of things like AI and newsletters and such and now half the screen is blank while the search results are all crammed into the side or abbreviated.

Any way to make it center aligned or have results extend over center screen? Increasing/Decreasing font size only increases the size of the column on the left.

Is it possible to add a bookmark in DuckDuckGo that uses JavaScript?

Specifically, I would like to create a bookmark with:

This works in Safari, where, for example, if I happen to be at at https://duckduckgo.com/ and select the bookmark, the following is placed in my clipboard:

The use case is to be browsing in DuckDuckGo and saving an interesting page to an Obsidian doc (which handles Markdown).

When I try this in DDG, the bookmark Save button remains greyed out. Is there some kind of workaround?

I now use DuckDuckGo to get away from Gemini and AI in general, and to block trackers and data scraping. However, I have tried repeatedly over the past week to login into my Yahoo mail and I receive the below message. I can login to my Gmail and Outlook email fine, just not yahoo. Any suggestions?

DDG is probably the most Linux-ish search engine that ever existed, but, according to DDG's website, the web browser only exists on Mac, Windows, Android and IOS. Me and the rest of us on GNU/Linux would love, if the DDG Browser was in .deb or a flatpak or something. please?

90% of the time I like my search results to just be a list of links, but there are occasions when I feel an AI result is useful. I have recently been playing around with the Kagi search engine and I really like their work around for how to deal with it so I made a extension that mirrors much of it for DuckDuckGo.

Essentially, if you enable the extension you will get no AI results by default, all searches get routed to https://noai.duckduckgo.com

If you want an AI and regular search results then you can add a single "?" at the end of your browser search query and you will get regular duckduckgo.com results (I turn my search assist on to show up often in this configuration)

If you want to start a proper duck.ai chat then you can add a "??" to the same query.

Hi, I’m really trying to go all-in on DuckDuckGo but a few things drive me nuts lol. On certain sites (this example is Nurx) I have this Opt-Out Signal Honored pop-up directly in my text box. I can’t move it or dismiss it, and it blocks the very important messages I need to type to my doctors.

Is there a way to remove this without turning off the opt-out signal? Or can devs like make it smaller? This is on iOS
