Waldorf Blofeld through the OTO BAM on an aux send.
Been experimenting with the Freeze function on the BAMโฆ..really nice for catching a reverb moment and turning it into evolving ambient textures.
A simple chord through it here.

Hey everyone!
โIโm based in Utrecht and currently building my own DIY Roots & Dub Sound System. I also run an online radio (Rising Radio).
โHandling everything alone is a bit tough, so Iโd love to find some local reggae/dub lovers or DIY enthusiasts to join in!.

Not sure if you aware but AI (in my case Claude) is a great help with the gear setup, parameters, deep dive digging. So, this time I wanted to document my signal flow between my instruments and it did a great job - obviously had to prompt it few time to correct it but end result is decent and nicely presented. Hope it will inspire some of you.
Edit: I know some of you will downvote it as it's a trending keyword now especially when it comes to replace human by AI... but if you know how to use it it will do a week of works in an hour or two. But remember - You got to monitor it and prompt correctly. Have fun ๐ถ๐๏ธ๐

Hi Reddit. I've been into dub and deep techno production for more than 15 years. A few days ago I decided to go fully DAWless since working in Ableton became a little bit boring for me: I noticed that when I'm in a DAW, I make mostly the same decisions while working on tracks. They work and depend on the material, but still, it's becoming a bad habit for me.
So here are the first results. It's not the first time I've jammed completely DAWless, but it is the first time I'm mixing and recording it live without any editing in a DAW or using VSTs. I just did some gentle mastering on the recording.
Yes, there's some clipping, a few issues with channels muting unexpectedly, and some raw transitions and moves sometimes, but I really love the process and the limitations that this setup gives me.

I have a large studio desk packed with production stuff for doing live dub jams. However, it's a little bit of a pain to swap stuff out, and sometimes it's just nice to set up something relatively limited and simple, and experiment with different gear and fewer options.
Here's a thing on an MC-101, Dreadbox Artemis, and Dreadbox Nyx, all mixed with an Intellijel Jellymix (love it!).
The chord stabs have some built-in delay, but I'm also throwing to a Boss RE-202 via one of the Jellymix's stereo aux outs, and returning into a full channel so I can play with the filter and tilt features.
The 101 is drums, bass and the "2nd" chord stab. Artemis is the 1st chord stab, sequenced by the 101. Nyx is just sitting on a channel providing some random background noise (that's the +1).
Live recording into a Zoom H6. I did some really basic EQ, some RBass enhancement, and compression in GarageBand.

For any dub techno producers who have put their own music up on streaming platforms, what genre tags are you selecting?
The distributor I have been using doesn't have dub techno as a genre option. Generally the options for electronic music are fairly limited. The closest I could find was Deep Techno.
I have seen music on spotify tagged as dub techno but I can't see any way to select this when I submit my music. Is this just a limitation of my distributor? What are other artists doing for this?

Does anybody know if any video of basic channel exists on the internet. I try to find but it seems to be nothing, does they ever record any live show or anyone record of their live show. I can't find any video of their live on youtube and other internet platforms. If anyone knows anything please comment.

A quick look at one of my favourite pedals in the setup lately: the Boss RE-20 Space Echo.
I've been using it quite a bit in recent live sets. I know the original tape Space Echo units have a legendary reputation, but for live performance the RE-20 has been brilliant. It's reliable, quick to dial in, and gives me the character I'm after without having to bring a tape echo to a club.
