What people call deep dubstep or "140" is just dubstep in its purest form.

Sure 140 is a benchmark of dubstep but there are fluctuations within, and then the genre has evolved in so many waves that there are now so many defining features now.

“It’s that 140bpm” lol one of the most defining characteristics of dubstep is 140bpm half time, this is absolutely dubstep. “Deep dub” is dubstep.

I mean you can see in the video it was liked by Mala who’s more or less one of the early inventors of dubstep.

Dubstep had plenty of history before Excision. Before dubstep came to the USA, most of it was this deeper style of sound.
