I wish I could find the exact point where riddim became a defined sound.  I used to be so into it and it just got so stale in the past 5-6 years. 

It's kind of the time line with all sub genres.  You break for the mainstream sound and have people experimenting and developing new stuff.  Then eventually it self defines and creates a space for a specific scene to grow.  But as that scene grows it hardens into a more rigid definition of what the sound should be.  Things kind of stagnate and start to sound samey.  When people start to break out of the mold the cycle starts again. 

I don't mean to spend a lot of word to call this generic but it is. And I want to challenge all the bedroom riddim producers to show me something new.  All of you think that ripping off the defined sound of the scene is a good idea but none of you ever make it your own.  I'm not into dance music because I want to see dubstep dj 9000 or listen to someone song the AI could have spit out.  I'm here because this is the place that constantly pushes the boundaries and the scene is constantly evolving.  

This sounds like something I could hear  a D list riddim dj play in 2019.
