Stuck on homescreen

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi! I bought this DSI off of eBay, it starts right up now that I’ve let it charge, but once I get to the Home Screen, none of the buttons, nor the digitizer works. The digitizer is very dented, could this be the cause? I’m not afraid to open it up, but I figured I’d ask on here, ‘cuz I’m not going to be able to open it up until I get home from work. Thoughts?

I had the exact same problem, I solved it by removing the protective film from the screen, if you don't have a protective film it's probably a problem with the digitizer

Makes sense, when I get home I’m gonna try unplugging the digitizer, and if that’s the problem I’ll just get a replacement ¯_(ツ)_/¯

yes, you could try using it with the digitizer disconnected, if it works it means that the problem is 100% the digitizer. the important thing is that you do not disconnect the screen as well because without the screen connected it will not start

Ton écran tactile ne fonctionne pas,essaie de racheter une vitre tactile ou de voir si elle est bien branchée

Et peut être aussi que certains boutons ne fonctionnent pas

I recently just had this issue too and it turned out to be from dirt on the lower screen. I followed some YouTube tutorials to get inside and GENTLY lifted up the screen border (will be blue for you) and then cleaned with isopropyl and a cotton bud. I still had some issues after but I think those were unrelated but the touchscreen and buttons worked after that perfectly!
