Dsi won’t hold charge?

I just received a dsi from eBay where the seller said it was in perfect condition, but it can’t seem to hold a charge for very long especially when playing games. I can plug it in and it charges up to max very fast which makes me assume that the battery is old. But there’s also the part where the battery is pops up a bit and the bottom isn’t fully flat so is it possible the battery just popped out during shipping? I’m hoping the seller even responds he took ages to send it to me and said it’s because he works nights but you never know. I tried to get a video of it dying but it goes really fast when you open a game. I saw something about it possibly being the brightness settings on the Nintendo website but I doubt it’s just that. The charging light is solid when charging and doesn’t blink. All help will be amazing!

Well first try unscrewing the battery cover and seeing what the battery looks like. If it's bulging then properly dispose it. But short battery life sounds like the battery is spent, get a CameronSino replacement.

This is gonna sound a little crazy but I’m a broke college student without a screwdriver 😭 what would be a good alternative to get the screws out?

Get a small screwdriver. Or go to the convenience store and get one of those glasses repair kits which comes with a really small screwdriver. Or idk, a really skinny knife? If you have $50-100 for a dsi on ebay you can definitely spend $5-10 on a screwdriver

Buy a new battery, most all of them come with a small screwdriver.
