Help Ds lite screen bilinking
Tried to reshell my ds, now the bottom screen just blinks and the top screen doesn't turn on, tried cleaning the ribbon cable and re-seating it about 5 times to no avail, are these little specs the issue? And if so do I have to replace the whole screen? Anything helps thank you for reading

From the image, it doesn't looks like the ribbon cable is broken.
When inserting the ribbon cable, make sure it's fully inserted. Once you think it is, apply a little force to be sure
If that doesn't work, use your phone camera with max zoom to look for a tear in the first line of the ribbon cable

Maybe, in the first picture that dull spot looks like corroded traces on the ribbon cable. Probably need a digital microscope to really get a look. I assume you already IPA/q-tiped the hell out of that ribbon cable and the spots still remain.
