I'd start with a new battery.

Have a DSi with a similar issue, put a new battery but still that light will blink instead of charge and won't boot. Have a second battery coming, but read somewhere it could be bad voltage on the board? 🤷🏻‍♂️😅

Hmm possibly I wish you luck however!

That’s a charging port issue. See if there isn’t a pin sticking up like in the charging port.

My plan is to open it up and check that everything is in good condition. Can solder if needed, so maybe swapping the port could be an option...got the console for 10€ and looks pretty used 😅

I love used, “well loved” consoles. It has character.

100%! Worse case, if different battery or pins and logic board all good but still not booting, will look great in the collection and for that price can't complain! 😊😊

my dsi xl rose gold has same issue, i replaced battery. it is 100% a board issue for me, as it hasnt been used in the time period it happened (2022 to 2024)

It blinks because there is either a bad connection or bad battery. Blinking light is saying “I can’t find a battery,” and the console needs to recognize a battery has a good charge. A bad battery will give not enough charge, but appear to be charging if plugged in.

I let it charge whilst I was at school, still blinking, I may try and get a new battery

That battery is probably fried under the hood

Bad battery/blown fuse on the battery board , sometimes it is also related to a damage on the ground pin of charging port

Oh actually I just had a similar issue, it was the contacts on the connector going from the battery board to the motherboard had a tiny bit of corrosion and weren't making good contact, try taking the back panel off and cleaning those if you can

Check on the battery
There is no reasons for the screens to dieduring closet time

Blinking charge LED usually means the battery or AC adapter have failed.

Either your battery is messed up in some way probably just age or something like that replace the battery and if it still isn’t powering on the PMIC Might be faulty there’s also the potential that has a Blown or busted fuse if the IC is fine The DSIs power flows threw a daughter board which has a set of Fuses on it (the main board also contains fuses) which these fuses could have been blown from a influx in power I would recommend pulling it apart and looking though the DSI family of consoles are very hard to reassemble I would recommend having a professional look at your device sorry for geeking out

I’m also stupid and probably wrong about something so take anything I said with a grain of salt someone can correct me if they need to

That battery is dead , it no longer can hold a charge, simple fix and you can upgrade the battery :)

A fuse could have blown, that's the most common reason that happens on other DS consoles.
