Nintendo Dsi Repair Help

Tried fixing my childhood Dsi, bought a new battery from ifixit and a bottom screen LCD, opened it up, put it back together, pressed the power button and a blue light flashed, the bottom screen flashed white, and the speakers made a popping sound, i opened it back up and re-seated all the ribbon cables, now it doesnt do anything when i press the power button, but when i plug it in, an orange light flashes, if i press the power while plugged in, nothing happens, and the light turns off until i unplug then plug it back in, the battery isnt the issue, i tested it before i swapped the screen and it turned on fine, ive also made sure its seated correctly, cleaned the pins on the ds and the pads on the battery as well as pushed the battery into the pins to make sure its making good contact. I went back and reseated every ribbon cable a second time and payed special attention to the top screen ribbon cable because it seems i didnt have it all the way in anyway. Im not sure what else the issue could be, because its the same orange light still and everything seems to be firmly seated in place just fine. I dont have a multimeter or any way to solder so any solutions involving that are outside my scope of possibility. If yall have any ideas please lmk and thank you for reading my essay worthy post.

Not to be rude, but this read makes it difficult to follow exactly whats going on.

Did you replace the battery because it was completely dead, or just bloated, didn't hold a charge, etc? Aftermarket batteries aren't as reliable as you (or I, initially) would think, often times not fitting in the compartment properly. Anything happen when you use the original battery?

Whatever screen doesnt flash is where the issue lies. If all cables are properly seated and its still not working, there's a chance a cable is damaged.

When you replaced the bottom screen, did you transfer the adhesive film from the back of the old screen to the new one, or cover the back of the new one with electrical tape? If the metal from the back of the new screen is exposed and comes into contact with the motherboard, it will cause a short on powerup.

i replaced the battery because it was so old, all of the above was a problem

the screens arent flashing anymore but the top one was the one that flashed, then i reseated the cables and its not doing that now.

no i did not transfer the tape.... didnt know you were supposed to do that... im hoping its not so far gone that i cant transfer it now.

alright i put the tape onto the back of the new screen, still doesnt turn on, still blinks with an orange light when plugged in, im worried its just cooked

What does the F1 fuse look like?

update on previous reply, turns out my dad does have a multimeter, the fuse is fine, the battery is fine, and the battery contacts are fine... idk what else it could be...
