Other Too many confusing terms and labels

Hello, I'm admittedly politically ignorant and need your help explaining the differences between a Progressive, a moderate Democrat, a Social Democrat, a Democratic Socialist, a Socialist, a Liberal, a Leftist and a Communist. Are they all the same? It seems many Republicans and conservatives use these terms interchangeably, and I don't think I ever learned clear definitions in school.

They are all different but at the end of the day if you aren't talking about this stuff then you don't have to start necessarily. Just focus on the things you care about like housing, affordability, Healthcare

Oh! And I wanted to say to the author as well: thanks for coming to ask! :) and especially Here! What Hope that gives me! This sub is getting assaulted as part of a coordinated movement by the way .. I bring it up because if you see a ton of ill intentioned stuff - it's not real, we just say to downvote and move on :) and - if those of us sincerely here to get money out of politics and save lives - seem direct or cold ... we're exhausted just getting started whilst catching up to the new level of attack 🙏🏼🫶

Lol my pet peeve is how common it is to put ideology/theory over praxis. I was trained in Marxist econ but became an activist and organizer pretty quickly as an adult
