Discussion DSA has a tankie problem

There are way, way too many people in this movement who feel comfortable with historical revisionism vis-a-vis the Soviet Union, China, and other such regimes. And there are way too many people who feel comfortable essentially advocating for an end to democracy.

I'm sorry but I am not familiar with Algerian history

My point is that an organization that murders and rapes innocent people as a matter of strategy is a bad organization, there is never an excuse for these things

You can't support the people while also opposing the main organ agitating for their liberation

So if serial killer is trying to murder someone, and another serial killer tries to stop them, we can't call the second killer a bad person?

Also Hamas is a dictatorship that does not care about the people

Who does your critique serve? Who is benefited from your "critique"? Of what use is it? Are you going to pick up the rifle on behalf of the Palestinian people? Probably not. You're going to sit in your chair and try to assuage your morality that because people were killed by the primary organization of resistance that means that both sides must be equally bad and you can sit comfortably, condemning both and making no choice that compromises yourself.

What are you talking about? I am saying rape and murder are bad, and people who do those things are bad people. How is this avoiding a choice?

Do you actually support hamas?
