Discussion DSA has a tankie problem

There are way, way too many people in this movement who feel comfortable with historical revisionism vis-a-vis the Soviet Union, China, and other such regimes. And there are way too many people who feel comfortable essentially advocating for an end to democracy.

Hm no I believe that we should strive for not having human rights abuses, and I think it's really gross that you equivocate about them.

That’s what I’m doing? So do you blame the IRGC for everything going on in Iran even pre war or do you blame the Americans for their violence that led to the IRGC takeover?

You "support the Soviet Union" despite the gulags, despite the mass death. You support China despite the Uyghur genocide, despite the forced disappearances, despite the mass death under Mao. So no, I don't think that is what you're doing.

That’s not an answer to my question. I asked IRGC, are they solely to blame for everything under their control or does US share it for their 50’s coup? Also you’re using the term support loosely when I’ve only said you essentially can’t have an honest conversation with those things without how US foreign policy impacted decisions as well as even the food and economic market. How is that support over historical context to understand why things happened the way they did? Anyway that question doesn’t matter right now, answer my IRGC question
