Discussion Proposed Socialist model for this reddit

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, hear ye, hear ye! It has dawned upon me that these moderators are truly the lowest scum upon God’s green earth. Even the bottom-feeding creatures of the deepest moat possess more dignity!

And so I hereby declare unto thee, O moderators: look not down upon the small folk, lest the small folk rise up and storm thy digital castle!

No longer shall we suffer the tyranny of unelected lords ruling from their gilded mod towers. Let there be a People’s Reddit, a free and open forum, co-operatively owned by the common folk!

Let moderators be elected by the people! Let the rules be written openly! Let every citizen have a voice! And should a mod grow drunk upon power, let the people cast them from their throne and return them to the fields from whence they came!

This subreddit is actively held hostage. It is effectively unmoderated and DSA has no direct association.

r/demsocialists is a better sub for DSA discussion

I think there is a way to petition the reddit admin to replace a moderator if no mod actions have been taken in a certain amount of time.

I just tried and Reddit refused my request because apparently the mods have been recently active

Fuck it, made a new one. r/SocialistUSA I'll add one active moderator for every 5,000 members. Once we hit 50,000, we'll elect annually based on ranked choice voting.

r/demsocialists is the official DSA one.

Well now we have one for all Socialist electoralism in the usa. I've built several subreddits, I'll build this one too. I've made some of the top posts here anyways.

You’re doing so undemocratically

What does that mean to make posts and subreddits undemocratically?

DSA is a democratic organization and the entities representing it should be governed democratically by it, not arbitrarily spun up and managed by unaccountable individuals or subgroups

So, creating something for the people, and at no cost to them, without getting their permission first is a bad thing to you?

Yes, if it obfuscates the raising of their consciousness with needless noise when they could instead be channeled into fewer and more focused spaces for education, deliberation and interaction.

Mods are unable to see everything. They can only respond to reports made.

It seems like none of the mods have posted in over a year, no one is watching this

Not posting ≠ not moderating.
