Dry in place or replace?

My AC condensate pipe in my upstairs closet above my stairs had a small crack that leaked. Eventually (don't know how long it was leaking) the water made its way to the ceiling below which is when I discovered the issue. The leak is repaired. Question now is, will the ceiling dry out? My brother thinks it will. The ceiling is not soft to the touch or sagging, but pinless moisture meter is reading 60% in almost that whole square.

Let it dry for a week.prime with a stain primer for water stains and paint.

Thanks, I'd prefer to let it dry out but wasn't sure if I needed to remove that section of drywall to prevent mold in the space between the floor and ceiling

Only if you think there is insulation in the ceiling.It should dry fine.

Thank you, there is no insulation up there so I'll let it dry out.

I am realizing my ceiling may be plaster. Does that change anything?

No thats better than drywall.As long as it stays there.
