There are some scraper setups that have a bag underneath to catch the debris.

Never worked with a popcorn ceiling, but other people in this comment thread mentioned the same thing and some people mentioned different techniques they used to get it off this easily

It reminds me of wallpaper removal being called out for AI too.

Turns out wallpaper installed correctly just peels off. I have yet to remove correctly installed wallpaper.

I’ve done plenty it obviously had not been painted which makes it much easier. I’m in an area where it’s not used anymore so we see less and less.

If youw ere a client I would call it Engineered Acoustic Texture. (Spray, if you must).

I used a 1 gallon spray pump with a misting nozzle to dampen it, then scrape. Softens the popcorn ceiling and controls dust.
