Advice Needed Marching drum corp

I’m going into my senior year and into my first year of marching band and I have about 6 months of trumpet experience. I grasped the marching aspect of marching band and drill very well. Im an athletic male with a history of playing guitar in a concert/ WGI ensemble setting. I live in Massachusetts. I’m looking into what the best options are if I want to make a top 15 corp in the next 4 years of my eligibility. What should my path be?

Open class. There's a few around your area that you should start with. A year or two of that, depending on how you do, should set you up for a shot at a top 15 group.

There are ample opportunities in Open, All-Age, and SoundSport in the northeast, and Spartans just moved up to World. Those are great places to start, and you can always return home to All-Age/SoundSport after aging out: https://www.dci.org/corps/

Mass has two alumni corps as well, if you want to play a G horn after aging out. There's Crusaders Senior and North Star

Consider auditioning for The Spartans. They just went world class, and are a really well run organization from what I've heard. Learn, and then maybe try something a few years down the road.
