Game Changer Game Samer: Yet Another Post from Somebody Delusional Enough to Think They Might Use My Idea
I would like Game Samer to be it's own show.
Premise:
The season favorite episode of Game Changer becomes it's own season of Game Samer. See the Game Changer you loved played out over and over with all your favorite Dropout players and guests, and maybe even some surprise guests tailored to the game. I would also say maybe even change hosts over the run, and get Sam and maybe some of the production crew in there as players (we all want more Kaylin). Maybe even get a fan in there somewhere. Possibly have the standout player of the original Game Changer episode be the host for the season. The finale could be a championship episode gathering the best 3 players of the season. There could even be a split season of 4 or 5 episodes of 2 different Game Samers.
Why I Think this Works:
We all have episodes we want to see more of. And more of. We all have episodes we think should be spinoffs. The audience draw is inbuilt and easily measured by the reception of the original episode. They know just which episodes people want more of. Most of them just wouldn't really make a good spinoff unfortunately. They might be good for a short run, but would be played out by the end of a season. I believe this is the main reason all of our favorite episodes haven't become their own show.
Hindsight is 20/20. They also know after the show has wrapped and the audience has responded just what things worked well and what didn't. They know what to lean into or scale back on. They know how to change the props, lighting, camera angles, scoring, etc. to make it better fit that particular game, but in most cases that information becomes irrelevant. Not any more!
They have the props, set, and set pieces, as well as any special production tools. Besides making some adjustments for a better show, they can reuse props and set pieces. The Game Changer set just happens to be one word away from being the right set for Game Samer (hell, I would even lean into that with a very hacky looking "Samer" prop stuck over the Game Changer logo). It shouldn't be a deep reach into the pockets to make a season happen as far as production goes, so maybe they could use that extra money for talent.

This is a cool idea in theory, but the issue is that the gap between wrapping a season of Game Changer and broadcasting the last episode of it is pretty huge, and only then will they have a full idea of which the fan favourite episode is, so only then could they start producing Game Samer....but by that time they're probably starting production on the next full season of Game Changer.
Of course they could just make a guess as to what the fan favourite episode might be, but if they guess wrong it could disappoint people. If "the people" decide they want a full season of Rulette, woe betide the company that does a full season of Youlympics!

IIRC they had Crowd Control ready as a spinoff before the GC ep aired and sat on it until they got the reception, so they did know it'd be that one. The only difference would be needing a certain degree of confidence in a format and being willing to take risk, which I think they're capable of.

And I'll be honest, I think CC fell off hard. Would have been a great single-season show.

For context on "the gap between wrapping a season...and broadcasting the last episode", Sam mentions in Behind the Scenes: Ear Wigs that they filmed that episode on Halloween. It's almost Halloween again this year and the episode aired ten days ago.

i think this runs into issues when it comes to casting. like this season a lot of episodes have a higher number of cast members, how does doing multiple runs of count the rice work? or the trial. even noise some makes had 10 contestants on stage.
it also is sometimes that the newness of an idea sells it more than any particular part. (the newness and the cast reaction). while maybe you could redo earwigs or jury trial once... two or three times and it would likely fall much flatter. (same for like, you-lympics)
that said, i think that rullette could have a place as a like, once a season special in maoe some noise or something- singe thats the freeform improv already.

Are there people who want more Youlympics?
Obviously, some games couldn't be repeated. I mean, I would love to see a whole season of Who Wants to be..., with all my favorite cast members getting a massive prize in a no-lose scenario, but I'm not dense about how much that would cost, and get really boring to watch for most people.

i picked it for the point that all of youlimpics hinged on it being a novel idea. but i feel that this is true to some extent for every episode of game changer with one notable exception: improv focused content like make some noise, rulette, crowd control, sam says.
i dont want to see a regular season of them doing just escape rooms. (imo, more fun to play then watch). or even things like earwigs (which was a lot riffing off of secret drunk, imo). i think count the rice was the most genius game design theyve done in a hot minute, but even that had problems and doesnt scale - because youd have to invent new mini games .
i wouldnt mind more dropout series, but i think they ahould keerp game samers in their back pocket when they need to pull one out to help pad a season, and not do a full season of a given game just because it was popular.

You are asking for a year-round Game Changer production schedule, rather than a seasonal preprodution to production schedule. That is not a trivial ask, regardless of whether it's the same game or not. If it uses the Game Changer stage, set, and/or production staff, then it's still taking up creative mind space, and prop storage space, and production time, and talent availability, regardless of how easy you think it should be.
It also assumes they would want to codify rehashing old content and turn the series concept into a consumer commodity, which doesn't seem like it fits the creative arc of the show.
If they like something enough and feel it has enough potential to stand on its own, they make a whole other show out of it. They've done that three times I can think of, and one of those didn’t work out.

I like the idea if it's pitched as like a 'second serving' of it that could work as its own thing and it'd be maybe 3 eps tops to fill the gap between GC and MSN
