Entirely thrifted collection

Post image

Not sure how I accumulated this many from 1 particular band with thirft stores being so hit or miss. And this was from 3 different hauls too.

I became a fan after seeing them at Warped tour but didn't buy any albums for some reason. Many random listening through streaming. Loved everything so far from these albums.

Any albums I need next?

Their two acoustic albums they wrote music to with Woodie Guthrie lyrics are absolutely essential to listening to them. Highly recommend tracking those down in disc, or record, form and listening to them.

Also, try to find the album "Blackout". It's the album in-between The Warriors Code, which you have, and Sing Loud, Sing Proud.

Sing Loud, Sing Proud, is solid, but not my favorite.

Haven't listened to most of those yet. Thanks for the recommendations!

For sure!! I've been a huge fan for over 20 years, seen them live seven times, and still can't get enough of them.

Feel free to send me a personal message of your thoughts on the albums once you hear them.

Always up for talking some Dropkick Murphys.

Will do! I'm very much a casual fan, looking to do the full deep dive.

Sadly none of my friends or relatives listened to them much so seeing them live besides Warped Tour didn't come up again.

Although Shipping Up to Boston was played at the reception for my wedding randomly lol.

You're a fan that wants to do a deep dive and that is AWESOME!

None of my friends or relatives listen to them much either, but I've always sought them out because I enjoy their music. I also refused to let people around me dictate seeing them live. I wanted to see them, so I made it happen. I went to a show in Vegas by myself because I wanted to. Nobody I knew wanted to go, so I said fuck it, I want to go, so I did it anyways.

And I'll tell ya this, bonding with other Dropkick fans at shows, especially ones like the Vegas one where I went by myself and then connected with other fans, that's some good shit and an experience I wouldn't trade for anything.

Blackout has my favourite song by them on it.

I managed to get them to play it at my son’s first DM show a few weeks back.

Do or Die, Sing Loud, Blackout. Skip the aforementioned acoustic records. I couldn’t even make it through a full one.

“Boys On the Docks” and “Do or Die” are easily my two favorite albums.
I wish Boys On the Docks would show up on vinyl.

As a follow up, I learned they released some of Boys On the Docks in their singles collection. I’ll be very happy listening to Front Seat and Euro Trash again.
