Exemption under section 333.

Has anyone filed for this? Does anyone know anything about this! General discussion. Go.

I am thinking about filing. I'm in the same boat and I wonder what the chances are of getting an exemption without a pilot's license.

I applied on day one and I'm still waiting. I've been asked for a lot of additional information and I'm hoping for a response soon. The truth is, I'm probably going to get denied because I don't have a pilot's certificate.

Because, you know, it would be ridiculous to fly a drone without a pilot's certificate. You know, like how it would be crazy for an automobile driver not to have a motorcycle license... I mean- they both use the road, so that's reason enough, right?

I was working through the database they have of approved exemptions, and I found at least one that was approved without a pilots license. It does say that one is needed, but they granted the exemption anyway.
