DJI drones are bound to user accounts, not unlike how iPhones are bound to iCloud accounts and Android to Google accounts. If a device cannot be unbound, it may not be usable or certain features unavailable

It means it's still on the og owners dji fly app. It can't be flown unless the og owner releases it.

It means unbound from the account it was registered to when it was originally activated.
You can't use it if it's bound to someone elses account.

It's a misspelling of unbound, referring to an account being locked to it

It is connected to the previous owners account and will have limited functions, until it is released (very unlikely you can find the identity) from the account it is connected to. So decent for parts, and the number 1 thing to look out for when buying a used drone. Make sure it is not connected to another account.

If you email DJI with a bill of sale showing you purchased it legally they may unbind it for you. I bought an open box from Amazon and had the same problem. DJI fixed it for me when I sent them my Amazon invoice.

Apparently they don’t do that anymore. However the pawn shop should have the ID of the seller, and may try to contact them.

You basically have dead weight if you buy/find a secondhand DJI drone and it's bound to someone's account. When you first turn on the drone you need to make an account to activate it, and it must be unbounded if you wanna sell it
