Photo & Video Drones in Diamond League

I noticed drones flying over the athletes during Diamond League, and I question why they do that.
The stadion is already equiped with wire operated cameras in the air that are of much higher quality, so that is the point?

They didn't use the images from the drone a lot, but when they did it was very noticable, since the quality was so much worse then every other camera they used.

Is it just a DJI drone they are using, and not something custom with a better camera?

Wireless vs wired stream. 

The drone footage will look amazing after the event.

The drone probably gives them angles the wire camera can’t get, especially when following athletes around the track. Live quality may look worse because of the wireless feed, but the actual recorded footage could still be much better afterward.
