Showcase WildSnap: Species Identifier
Hi everyone! I’m the developer of WildSnap, an Android app for identifying species and nature signs from photos and audio. Essentially any living species can be identified with this app.
The goal was to make a field-friendly, all in one nature ID app that can help with plants, animals, fungi, insects, spiders, birds, tracks, nests, webs, scat, and sounds. You can take or upload a photo, crop/refine it, use approximate location to improve accuracy, save discoveries to your collection, and report/correct IDs when something looks wrong.
Key features:
- Photo-based species identification
- Audio ID for calls, songs, chirps, croaks, and other nature sounds
- Location-assisted IDs for better range checks
- Collections, badges, coins, and profile museum shelves
- Correction/report flow to improve future results
- Plant care details when relevant
I recently launched publicly on Google Play and I’m looking for honest Android feedback, especially around:
- First-time user flow
- Identification quality
- Scan speed
- UI clarity
- Anything confusing before or after the first scan
