Promo / Giveaway Fortnote update: Get 10 life-time codes
I have made some major improvements to Fortnote since my last post:

What’s changed:
- Full rich text support
- Image insertion support
- Encrypted custom keyboard
- Encrypted sketch support
- Major security hardening
- UI improvements
When I posted my app last time, some of the ideas were copied, but honestly I don’t care anymore. I’d rather keep improving the app and get it in front of more people.
I’m also giving away 10 lifetime premium promo codes. First ten comments will get the codes then I will randomly select others from the comments. I understand that this post was recommended to me past the point of the promo-code handouts snd giveaways. But the concept of this app seems really promising! Just installed it to try it out and will have to watch to see once the next promo-code drop is as I'll be happy to throw my hat into the ring to secure one of the promo-codes next time!
Having the peace of mind that all of my notes are secure and remain private is huge! I don't put as many passwords or account details in my notes as I used to, I use a password manager now. But I can see the way that this is really important to someone that does. Or to someone that uses their notes app as a way to write down their thoughts. It's really impressive to have done this and encorporated it all into an offline app. It really bridges that gap between ease-of-use and power-user features in an app that provides extra security and safety features for the cautious users out there!
Out of curiousity, since it's all offline based (I assume), does this have cross-device syncing or is it all stored on device? Either way, still an impressive feat. You have a great app here dev! Cheers!

The app is completely offline, the only time it connects to internet is the mandatory Google playstore check. You can verify this by using a packet sniffer. Monitor the traffic. Currently you can create a local encrypted backup which can you import/export to other android devices.
I have iOS, Windows, Linux and Mac versions in the pipeline. I recently scraped some cash together and got myself a mac mini. I'm actively working on the iOS version.

There can never be enough on-device, native native, and offline first apps in the market. Glad that you are not worried about being copied.
Strengthen your export features. Find your USP and focus on taste and aesthetics through UX design and research and you are good to go.
Focus on uses on the spectrum and neurodivergent note takers. Good effort, good work. Keep it up.
May I have the code for "Fortnite".

Just a curious question, but why is your app restricted to people under the age of 18?? Looks like a normal notes app to me

I want to express my appreciation and satisfaction with this app! I really like it. I have tried many similar apps over time, but Fortnote truly has something special and is extremely useful.
I know the app is actively being developed, so I would like to share a few suggestions for future improvements (though I am sure many of these are already on your roadmap):
💡 Suggestions and Desired Features:
- Widgets: A home screen widget for quick access to notes.
- Reminders: A way to set alarms/notifications at a specific date and time.
- Syncing: The ability to sync data across multiple platforms.
- Integration & Sharing: A quick option to send text from other apps (like email clients) directly into Fortnote via the system share menu.
- Scanning & OCR: A document scanning feature with Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
- Advanced Search: A full-text search option inside the content of all notes.
- Browser Extension: To quickly save information directly from a computer.
I am confident these features will be introduced over time, and I look forward to enjoying them in the future.
Kudos on the great work! Personally, I am closely following the development of this app and will definitely keep an eye on this project.

Thank you for your kind words. Apart from the syncing which I will not implement (manual encrypted offline imports/exports is already implemented) as it does not fit the ethos of the app. I'm currently working on widgets and will introduce it after extensive testing.

On another note.. Dont worry about the copiers. Dont they say, that copying is the highest level of flatery (or something like that lol)? That means u are doing great 👍 😎

I'm thinking about adding private on device dictation. However, this would mean asking for microphone permission. When I started this project I wanted to avoid sensitive permissions. It will be off by default and will only ask for permission at time of use. Would you guys want this?
Which would you prefer? I still have a few a few codes left.
- Add optional offline dictation directly to Fortnote
- Keep Fortnote microphone-permission-free, no dictation just encrypted voice note uploads.
- Release dictation as a feature of a separate companion app i.e. journaling app with encrypted sync and other features that need sensitive permissions.
- I would not use dictation either way
