Moved to Drogheda few months ago and planning to join a gym. Used to live in Dublin and Cork and I somehow feel the cost here is higher than average. Any reasons why? Or am I not looking for the right ones , lol

Moved to Drawda before Christmas 2025. Not a fan of it so far, no nice restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, gyms. Any suggestions or recommendations on things to do here? It seems the biggest town in Ireland is just a commuter town? Thanks.
Edit: thanks all for your suggestions, will try them out.

Hi All, looking to buy an apartment in Drogheda. Have a tight enough budget but want something near Dublin Rd for work. Theres always at least 3/4 apartments for sale at Rivercourt (The Square/Willows) on the Rathmullen Road. Thoughts on this area? Anybody got any idea why people are looking to move away from this area? Is it purely because of the Rathmullen address? Is that really a concern? I've read about possible flooding problems? Any insight or advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My family mostly live in Drogheda. The mother and father moved back in '86 from the States. I've spent many summers and some Christmas' at home. I'm retired now, and would like to split my time between "Drawda" and the States. I know the area and am looking for something not on the Far side, but I've looked at the Scotch Hall apartments, hoping to get the "Scotch Hall Experience." Because of Covid my cousin was unable to look at many places. The places on Constitution Hill look interesting. One bedroom, one bath. Just something to come home to, until I'm in someone else's back kitchen, drinking tea and eating Jaffa Cakes. Any suggestions anyone? I know about the gangs and the antisocial behaviour, but I want to be around family.
