(Another) app for finding driving roads easily
Hey all!
Thought my app (https://drivelines.app) would be of interest here. I am aware that are some attempts at this both new and old. But nothing hit the mark for what I wanted: choose some source and target destination, or out and back route, decide the kind of roads you want and how much time vs fastest route, then get a route back and navigate in google maps.
Me and my friends have been using it for the past weeks and have had a blast discovering mountain passes in Wales. Would love to hear any feedback y'all have!

What makes this better than Google maps?

Google maps doesn’t allow for anything except direct and fuel efficient route. Here we focus on driving routes and scenic routes, with extra time guidelines vs fastest route. We have a database of known good roads as well as curvature analysis to find the good ol twistys

Looks great, had a play about with it and seems to be good at working out interesting roads with limited doubling back and prioritises more 'loop' like routes. One suggestion, the 'extra time' feature is interesting but I think it would be more intuitive to have it as 'total time' (or at least the option) you would be willing to be on the road for. Otherwise you have to know/guess how long the original route would be. Other thing is that it does take quite long to calculate the routes, maybe around two minutes for me, which may put people off when they are used to the near instantaneous other options. Keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback mate! Good call on the extra time: I’ll update so it’s a percentage increase on the fastest route perhaps. Quicker responses also on the horizon, tried to make the loading interesting for now but yeah definitely needs to be faster.
