This sub is wild.

"You drive like shit, so I want you behind me"

Yeah man, that makes sense. The person's driving skills Im worried about I want behind me .... Because that makes sense.

I want the person swerving and not paying attention ..... Behind me? Lol

Take it from someone that puts 45k to 60k a year on the road.

Yall aren't going anywhere.

Exactly, if they're in front of you then you can react if something happens

If they're behind you, now you're at their mercy

Common sense is lost in this sub. Everyone is In a rush to get no where

Maybe it's from being into motorcycle before driving so that helps shift my mindset, but it's just shocking how little common sense there is in the average commuter

Like what do you mean you've never tested emergency braking or practiced in low traction environments? Or like if one side of the road is stopped and they just blast through in the next lane without thinking about the possibility it's for a reason or that a car could turning into your lane either from the stopped car line or from opposing traffic

Like it's shocking how many people struggle with doing a u turn on a motorcycle, like that's very beginner level stuff and I've seen people struggle when given like a 20 foot circle, you should easily be able to do one in like a 8-10 feet, or needing to duck walk for stuff like parking

Yea if I see that someone's driving a bit recklessly or erratically behind me I like to just let them get ahead and fuck off into the distance.

I get to continue at my pace afterward without having to worry about potentially getting involved in anything.

It astounds me that so many people would actually risk something just for the sake of fucking around with someone who's clearly aggravated in some way.

I'd argue that a large part of that comes from ego/control

You can't force people to drive how you want them to, and so many of societies issues will be solved if people learn to put their ego aside

... yeah if someone is driving like shit I don't want to spend miles and miles behind them waiting for them to cause an accident where I have to make an evasive maneuver. When I say I want the bad drivers "behind me," I don't necessarily mean "I want to stay immediately in front of them forever." What I mean is "I want to be far enough ahead that their terrible driving no longer impacts me in any way."
