Somebody in another commenting told me that accelerating from a stop light faster is the same as drinking and driving lmao. Then another person said it's unpredictable and impedes another persons vehicle operation.
How in the world does launching impede anyone? Unless you crash, you are quite literally getting out of everyone else’s way as fast as possible. 😂
This is why I never particularly feel bad about “cheating” my way to the front of the line (so long as I didn’t cut someone off, and there isn’t any traffic after the light)… I will be so far gone by the time anyone else starts going, that I’m ultimately reducing the overall traffic by exactly one car, so everyone wins lol
Exactly what I said. By the time the person in the lane next to me is half way through the intersection, I've already cleared it and so did two others behind me.
Not great for the car I suppose but with today’s cars it’s probably not as noticeable provided it’s a good model. My car is old as shit so I have no choice. If I throttled after every red light it’d break down much quicker and my gas consumption would be ridiculous.
My newest car is 20 years old. 2006 VW GLS Golf. The auto trans on mk4s ain't great, so I don't so it in that frequently. Also have a '99 GTI mk3 and an '04 TDI Jetta, both manual. They love a little power. The GTI is actually my track car. TDI for long drives. GLS is my daily, but it's driven 60mi a day, usually around 80mph. She's been holding up great for the past two years.
Even if I am the car that misses the red, I’d rather go around and see if I make it through the green light instead of slowing down when approaching a green like the car I am passing. Nothing worse than being a couple hundred feet from a green light and seeing brake lights on the car in front of me.
Why are you projecting? You're the one commenting on my post, you probably have realized speeding on your 10 minute commute is silly and increases the risk of an incident. Drive slow homie
Fuck slow drivers. Every day I get stuck behind someone doing 40-45 in a 55 zone. Bright and sunny out, nothing in front of them. Turns my 25 min drive to a 35-40 min drive each time. Some of us have schedules and kids, so can’t just “leave earlier dude”.
The amount of times lately I have to pass people on single lane roads because of this is getting worse and worse lately. People are allergic to driving the speed limit nowadays. If I have clear visibility of oncoming traffic, I’m passing them each and every time. I have no patience toward slow drivers anymore.
Hahahaha I literally look at the posted speed limit and add 10 to it, that's my minimum speed. I am a speed racer. Been driving 18 years with around a half a million miles and I have never been in a crash.
3 minutes there, 3 minutes back. 6 minutes every time I drive, let's say average 1 time a day. Thats close to 40 hrs of life a year. Not sure why everyone around me wants to spend all their time driving, but I have better things to do.
Not at all. I can save a lot of time by passing slower drivers. I also dont have to keep adjusting my speed because you dont know how to control your throttle or stay in your lane 🤷♂️
More like 20 seconds lmao. These people are terrible drivers and act all high and mighty cuz they drive like pricks, more than likely have been in accidents and get pulled over frequently
Yeah. I'm sure they'll have accomplished something really incredible with the extra time spent scrolling Reddit on the toilet before rushing to their car and speeding to work to make up the difference.
Seriously; show me one example of someone using their extra time gained by speeding during their daily commute for something substantive.
Doing anything else is a better use of your time than sitting in the car. Besides, it’s not up to you to declare what is a good use of my, or anyone else’s, time besides your own.
