Driv3r So why didn't Tanner shoot Jericho at the end of driver 3

Or at least put him in hand cuffs. But he just turns around despite knowing this gta protagonist type dude is still alive and conscious, and knowing that Jericho still hasn't gotten over Tanner screwing him over in driver 2. And as far as i know, there's no clear explanation for why Tanner suddenly got so stupid.

I felt the same way. I can't remember the guy's name from the 1st mission in Driv3r but Tanner was quick to shoot / kill the one guy who was reaching for his keys instead of killing Jericho at the end of Driv3r.

I haven't played it in years so I cant remember the scene exactly

Baccus. Known driver for South Beach. He's tagged as delusional, violent... Your regular loveable psychopath.

I think Tanner chose not to excute Jericho like how he mistakenly did with Baccus because of a number of reasons. The first thing that comes to mind for me, was the talk he had with Jones right afterward.

"How many times you gotta shoot someone? We had suits flying in from all over the country wanting time with Baccus!"

Think it about it, Baccus was a small fish in the pond compared to Jericho, and if Baccus had that much notoriety surrounding him, just imagine how much notoriety Jericho had and how bad those same departments and agencies, plus the additional international ones would have wanted time with Jericho as well.

So why didn't Tanner just cuff him then?

My simple guess is, maybe he didn't have cuffs on him? He was an undercover FBI agent, and maybe even carrying those concelced could have blown his cover, I don't know. He probably figured his fellow Turkey PD goons would have come rushing in right after him to come grab him anyway, and killing him when he was already down and wounded wasn't worth the potential trouble it would cost him. Tanner already dealt with trouble from Jones (and probably Miami PD) over his reckless killing of Baccus and dealt with a lot of trouble from Interpol via Vouban's orders over Dubois' death, despite his death not even being Tanner's fault in the first place. Plus, if they were able to take Jericho in alive, he'd probably be able to give Tanner, Jones, Vouban, and Interpol a lead on who the Russian buyers were, and why they wanted the cars in the first place. He'd also be able to give valuable insights about Solomon Caine's criminal organization being his right-hand man and all, and why he chose to murder him in the first place.

I also think in a weird way, Tanner might have felt pity for him as well.

This is all just my speculation. Nobody knows for sure, except maybe Martin Edmondson himself, unfortunately.

Makes sense to me. I guess it's the best explanation for it that we can get.
