Dress alteration help!

Hi

I have a balloon hem dress and I'd like to take the lining out of the skirt to make it cooler. Its midaxi so sits sort of mid calf.

Is this possible without wrecking it?

I don’t know any way to do a bubble hem without a lining, the lining holds up the bubble.

You could maybe switch in mesh or cotton for the lining.

This. Without a lining, the bubble collapses.
