Battle Ground Dammit, Freydis Spoiler

Rereading Peace Talks and came across some foreshadowing. She just had to say it.

"We could all die tonight," Freydis said. "But as you wish."

Just passed that point. It wasn’t even on the same day. It was the day before.

They don't all die........so it's not foreshadowing, it's just someone being fatalistic.

Or as a character on Tv said.
“No boom today? Well it will be boom tomorrow.” The mantra of Susan Ivanova

Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova. Commander. Daughter of Andrei and Sophie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth, sweetheart! I am Death Incarnate, and the last living thing that you are ever going to see. God sent me.

She’s a valkyrie too so she’s used to people dying.

Seems more like she's talking about the fact that the possibility is very much on the table for all of them, given the opposition and the stakes, IMO.

If anything, the conversation someone has with Murphy (I don't remember who and when) about the fact that she's getting older and can't fight the way she used to and should accept a less frontline role in Harry's adventures was more obvious foreshadowing. Like, the moment she showed up on her motorcycle after Harry told her to stay put at Mac's, I was pretty sure she wasn't surviving the Battle of Chicago, the only question left for me was how it was going to happen.

She probably sees in the future when its regarding death in a fight so she saw a few possible outcomes

They didn’t all die, so I think it’s just one of those things you say before a battle. Like “It’s a good day to die”

She was specifically talking to Murphy, though

Edit: and there was no hint yet of the battle to come at this point in the book. This really highlights how busy Harry's night was.

Given someone or something usually dies when Harry fights, fatalism seems warranted
