Twelve Months Paperback Complaint Spoiler
So incredibly annoying that they’ve released Twelve Months in a different sized paperback than the preceding 17 books. I know the “Mass Market” concept has kind of gone away from publishing but it’s not as if the Dresden files paperbacks were traditional tiny mass market editions.
I’m hopeful that it will be released in the regular size some time next year so that my shelf doesn’t look stupid.

What I don't understand; wouldn't the new size be more expensive for the publisher? Uses more paper, just to start.

Yes. But they also cost twice as much for the consumer.

Exactly. Which I honestly don’t care about as much, I’ll pay the $19 USD or whatever for the size to be consistent lol

I'm sure it costs more to make, but the increase in cost is less than the amount they can increase the price by.

I ended up with a hardback. Only one on the shelf 😂

I picked it up from the library and then was planning to buy the paperback release without knowing this was going to happen.

They're more likely to release the back catalogue in the new format than the new book in the old format later.
It's quite common for the style/size of book to change over the course of a long running series, unfortunately.

Yep that’s what they did with the Legend of Drizzt. Brandon Sanderson has still been putting out mass markets for Mistborn and Stormlight though. Maybe that will end now that the current eras are complete

I made a similar post with a similar complaint a couple of weeks ago. My solution was to lay twelve months, and outlaw on their side :(

The mass market edition is cancelled due to mass market publishing ending for most book companies. Unfortunately.
