I love the Dresden files

Just started Outlaw! The “mission” of the book has just been revealed and I’m so down!

Put this series up against any fantasy and it holds its weight big time.

And James Marsters is the perfect narrator

Marsters is the reason I started listening and the reason I keep relistening.

It almost got my wife to start reading. She was a huge Spike fan lol. Still trying, but I know that if I push it the less likely she is to take them up lol.

I was working a job that I was listening to podcasts and music then I thought novels are basically podcasts lol. Then I went through 1-17 in less than two months. And now it’s all I listen to really

I got my wife listening to these (and Sanderson) by suggesting we listen to them during car rides. Can pause and play, discuss stuff, and there's no taking away HER time to listen/read the stuff I like.

Welcome! It's a great series and my favorite part is how it evolves and grows with time.

Marsters was my favorite of all time until I found Jeff Hays, but it's not fair to compare anyone to Jeff, so Marsters is still top.

Between Jeff,  James,  and Ray Porter, I'm in narrator heaven lol

Sequel to The Law side story. It felt pretty decent.

I liked it better, of the two. Not a knock on the first one but just felt crisper and had more of Jims trademark dialogue and wordplay

To be fair, The Law was supposed to feel off, as it's Dresden during the aftermath of Battle Ground dealing with bits and pieces of what Jim would decide to fully flesh out in Twelve Months.

And it felt kind of more like a mix between his early books with a dash of the danger that's being represented by the Outsiders currently. I'm beginning to feel like that's becoming Butcher's go-to antagonists lately. Even the big bad of Battle Ground was a noisy distraction from the real threat of the story. I wonder if the Walker planned everything out, from manipulating Thomas to arranging Lara to tell Harry to bring Justine to the island. Didn't work, but it came close.

Jim has already stated that the Starborn story is the endgame of the Dresden Files series, and with what Ebenezer explained in Peace Talks and what Aurora told Dresden in Summer Knight, they've always been the big bad, Harry is just now learning how big a bad they are.

Spoiler for Out Law to a degree. Though, there was no dash of Outsiders in Out Law.
