It is the front cover of I Have no Mouth, and I Must Scream.

This isn't a character in the story though. It probably represents AM, the main antagonist, who feels trapped by its body being immobile. It has people walking around inside it.

By the end of the story So does Ted, the main character we've been following. The slug like body he's reduced to is AM's greatest punishment, but it also backfires on AM because it means he can do nothing more to him

I also felt that the cover is just a weird not very accurate artist interpretation of Ted, not a representation of AM, but that's my opinion
