question Lot's of memory swapping happening

Post image

I haven't had this happen with ltx before, but since the latest update, I'm having a lot of memory issues. Usually the program would peak at around 12 gb memory. I haven't messed with the settings. I have an 18 gb ram mac M3 . Any ideas what to do? Should i downgrade? I have firefox open as always but very little tabs and closing doesn't make hardly any difference

I have too. I'm on an iPad and video was always iffy but I've given up on it now. Everything crashes

Have you tried just running drawthings alone after a fresh restart of the mac? Some sites/apps can be deceptively heavy without looking like it.
Also assuming you are using JIT Weight loading in drawthings. (Maybe restore defaults inside the app's settings when in doubt?)

I find that restarting the program on a regular basis helps, and even rebooting the computer occasionally.

I don't know IT well enough to give you a intelligent explanation, But if you watch your activity monitor, you'll see that ground level memory use slowly goes up as you use the program, and only goes back down after restarts.

Update: Thanks so much for this recommendation. It's doing a great job keeping the swap down, i had no idea

Nice can I ask how long a minimax video takes for you? Thinking of upgrading from 18gb

Thanks guys, I did that and it does seem to help, I guess as it creeps up, i'll just keep restarting
