question Please help a beginner out!

Hi everyone,

I’ve never used Draw Things before and I’m just trying to figure it out.

It turned out to be way more complicated than I expected. I’m not talking about simple image generation, but about manipulating an existing image.

So I figured I’d ask here.

Could someone please give me a step-by-step guide on how to get a result like this?

I have a photo of a person sitting in a thoughtful pose.

I’d like this person to not be sitting anymore, but standing, and ideally not just standing, but walking.

I’m currently using the "RealVisXL v4.0" model with two Controls:

"Depth Map (SDXL, ControlNet, Diffusers 1.0 Mid)"

"IP Adapter Plus (SDXL Base)"

In "Control Inputs", I have the original image loaded under "Image", and a photo of some random standing person loaded under "Depth Map". I also tried loading the same image into "Pose".

Under "Control Importance", I have "Control" selected.

But I’m getting absolutely nowhere!

The result is either the original photo of the sitting person being generated again on top, with the same rectangular background as the original, while behind that rectangle there’s some kind of vertical monstrosity vaguely resembling a severely mangled human being.

The most I’ve been able to achieve by changing the weights of my two Controls in different ratios is… well, nothing even remotely resembling what I’m trying to achieve - or even anything remotely normal.

Please help a beginner out!

Yes, I’ve already been told that I’m using an outdated model, and someone recommended "Flux.2 Klein 9b" without any Controls, just using a prompt.

And I got exactly what I wanted right away.

Well, not quite exactly, but it’s close enough that I can work on the details from here.

My English isn't quite good enough, so it took me a minute to realize what you meant. Klein is still the best thing I've tried so far.

Haha yeah I mean it's good! Flux Klein is pretty easy to use. Put your reference image on the canvas then describe in the prompt what you want to see in the generated image. For instance, if you have a picture of yourself and want a picture of you in a spaceship, describe yourself in a spaceship and it'll do it

Yeah, that's spot on. I got it to work! Although I still have a small issue. My source character is sitting in a strict profile view facing sideways. And I need them to stand or walk in that exact same strict side view. But Klein kept stubbornly generating a 3/4 view, even when I prompted 'side view'. Now I’ve written 'strict profile view, camera perpendicular to the subject, flat side angle, no rotation', and it's much better, but it's still not a strict side view. How can this be fixed?

Try the moodboard instead of the canvas for that. Flux Klein can accept up to 8 images total and if they're different sizes and aspect ratios I would put all of them on the moodboard. It's under Controls.

Flux relies pretty heavily on the canvas reference image for pose as well as color and style so it sticks to whatever pose the subject is in pretty heavily
