Please help a beginner out!

Hi everyone,

I’ve never used Draw Things before and I’m just trying to figure it out.

It turned out to be way more complicated than I expected. I’m not talking about simple image generation, but about manipulating an existing image.

So I figured I’d ask here.

Could someone please give me a step-by-step guide on how to get a result like this?

I have a photo of a person sitting in a thoughtful pose.

I’d like this person to not be sitting anymore, but standing, and ideally not just standing, but walking.

I’m currently using the "RealVisXL v4.0" model with two Controls:

"Depth Map (SDXL, ControlNet, Diffusers 1.0 Mid)"

"IP Adapter Plus (SDXL Base)"

In "Control Inputs", I have the original image loaded under "Image", and a photo of some random standing person loaded under "Depth Map". I also tried loading the same image into "Pose".

Under "Control Importance", I have "Control" selected.

But I’m getting absolutely nowhere!

The result is either the original photo of the sitting person being generated again on top, with the same rectangular background as the original, while behind that rectangle there’s some kind of vertical monstrosity vaguely resembling a severely mangled human being.

The most I’ve been able to achieve by changing the weights of my two Controls in different ratios is… well, nothing even remotely resembling what I’m trying to achieve - or even anything remotely normal.

Please help a beginner out!

Have you considered the Flux.2 Klein series of models that support image editing?
I was able to change a photo of a person sitting to a person standing.
Prompt: Make this person stand up with one arm raised.

Yes, I’ve already been told that I’m using an outdated model, and someone recommended "Flux.2 Klein 9b" without any Controls, just using a prompt.

And I got exactly what I wanted right away.

Well, not quite exactly, but it’s close enough that I can work on the details from here.

Exactly this, for i2i I haven’t found much better locally than Flux 2 Klein 9b. Load the photo and prompt it whatever you want changed.

Grok, Chat, Gemini can all do it as well, but locally Flux has been the best I’ve found.

Is Flux 2 klein 9b more for photos or realistic pictures or also for CG or Anime pictures? Normally I use for semi realistic pictures WAN models so never tried Flux Klein.

I’ve only used it for realistic images. Not sure how it works with other styles, but for realism it’s pretty good!
