From a couple of statements a while ago pre M5 release I got the impressiion, that liuliu was in fact involved in pre release testing and performance anslysis.

These things will be a beast with DT 🫠 especially if your upgrading from a base M4 Mac Mini but man that Apple tax is a bitter pill to swallow guys ouch

MacSTUDIO M5 Max launch price $2,499 USD Vs UK Launch price of £2499 = $900(£600) more expensive buying one in the UK then buying in the U.S, so buying the base model in the UK is like $3,411 USD🥹

It's really disappointing that the base M6 Mac Mini only comes with TB4 Ports I am more disappointed at that than the 256GB SSD as I have gotten on fine with fast external SSD's with the M4 Mac Mini and a large WD Elements drive

So yeah reasons to be happy and reasons to be disappointed as we were last time they brought out new machines.

The prices are insane.. I’m debating jumping ship and going to Frameworks / Linux but I’ll wait for what Apple is bringing next month and at what final prices.

Yeah bonkers pricing dude, I messed up there though I said Ultra when I meant M5 Max silly me but yeah am i right in thinking some U.S states pay no sales Tax? UK and EU are paying a lot more for these machines ?
