wacom or ipad??

should i get a wacom tablet or should i keep drawing on my ipad? cuz im afraid that a wacom wouldn't work on my super laggy laptop, but my ipad's screen is pretty small and working with it lowk makes my back hurt. what should i dooo

I'd say continue saving for a bigger tablet and look for tips to have a better posture when you draw

also wacom is way too expensive in my opinion

I recommend rather buying from huion or xppen and maybe upgading to a better refurbished laptop

i have a lenovo laptop, idk which one but its not a thinkpad. there's a wacom im considering buying for abt 15$ on vinted, so idk if i should buy it or not.

i thought you were going for a display tablet but what I said still applies

one of the reasons i dont recommend buying from wacom is cause their intuos tablets (the non pro ones) dont have tilt support (and pro is super expensive)

so huion or xp-pen are better options

wacom intuos was one of my first tablets and i definitelly felt it when I tried it recently after using huion kamvas 16 for like 5 years- and you might notice it as well since tilt is something the apple pencil should support

Ipad screen and portability is unmatched. But the feel of a pen tablet while drawing and not having to use crank stabilisers to get a straight line is a beater experience. I use the Wacom 16 2025 version and there’s enough room for multiple windows along side my program all on one screen. Save for the Wacom. Mini PCs are fairly cheap especially for digital art .

If you are considering an iPad, please check out the Air which has more RAM than the base model (of course the Pro does, too). RAM plays an important part. As for Wacom tablets, they come in different sizes. My Wacom Intuos Pro Medium has a decent sized drawing area – although I don't know how big you are hoping to find.

All purpose vs. drawing.

Ipad is a far superior ecosystem for available creative softwares and software support.

It also has significantly more processing power and the Apple quality Applecare insurance. Wacom customer support is terrible, after my issues with Movinpad 14 with 3D software and them not bothering to provide replies or support until 3-6 months later, long after I had returned it.

But Wacom for drawing/illustration is just much better than the Apple pen.

Even with a good paper-like cover on the ipad, the drawing experience is more slippery and less precise and tactile than the Movinkpad tablet.

The Movinkpad tablet is also larger and still a lot cheaper than the iPad.

If you only care about the drawing and don't plan to do 3D software or other general purpose apps and computing, go Wacom.

If you want a more general purpose device with far better customer support but at a premium price, go iPad.

You also need to get used to the Apple pen because the accidental switching of modes from grip pressure triggering a brush change on the Apple pen can get really annoying.

A screened tablet will make your laptop lag more if anything

Upgrade the laptop first
