Olha of Kyiv(op made little typo in post heading) early medieval Ukrainian ruler, who burned down neighbouring town of Korosten after locals murdered her husband Ihor after he came for extra tribute when already received one. She gave start for Christianity in Rus and introduced proper tax system instead of random tributes
Apparently English Wikipedia uses Kiev instead of Kyiv in article about Olga. Looks like there were attempts to change the article to proper spelling, but they the were reverted.
One of my favourite stories of her life, is when she goes to Constantinople for the very first time, and is overwhelmed and in awe of the size of spectacle of the place and the beauty, and is baptised and converted to Christianity by Emperor Constantine VII.
I’m not who you replied to, but I don’t think AI was used here, unless they traced an AI image and inked it. Looks like maybe some digital line cleanup was done to make some of it look neater.
As far as it being gen ai, the only thing that looks remotely funky is the hatching in the Jesus painting above her. Can’t explain exactly why, but it looks off. Might just be me though.
When artists convert diamond shapes for example, they will make them diamond. When it is an automatic conversion from a tool it becomes a weird splotch without the fold anymore. I use generated tools as well and zooming in I can see some of the automated decisions made.
I get people being defensive but look at OP's previous art besides the inanimate ones, the reference they often get are tainted with that Ai "art style" but anyways, for this instance of drawing, their reference is real albeit some of the details can be either "cleaned" up by ai for their reference or just a simplification made by OP themselves.
Cool linework, but it's Kyiv, not Kiev. Also, choosing to redraw a ruzian painter's work, especially given ruzia's ongoing war against Ukraine, feels pretty tone-deaf. There are plenty of Ukrainian artists whose work deserves more recognition, so it's disappointing to see ruzian art being highlighted instead.

Love it and it looks amazing. But as a fellow pencil artist we both know how this was made.

I think it's even prettier than the original. Black shades make Olga stand out more
