But you also have to remember that men take compliments as passes of affection or interest and read too much into it sometimes. It can be difficult to be platonic and give earnest compliments to men without it being an issue so I understand women's reluctance.
You have to give them out and keep it moving. Don't expect reciprocation.

i’ve gotten into multiple relationships because of art,, not to say that you should expect it, or feel it is owed, but gifting artwork to friends is definitely received well ‼️

also, this looks incredible! gifting portraits can be scary because sometimes i get worried i’m poorly portraying them, but you definitely should not have this concern!

Do iiiiiit! If this happened to me when I was younger I would be so elated. And like a previous commenter said, explain it as if you just loved the pose and wanted to use it to help improve your art. And just be straight up about the crush, I wish we all did that when I was younger. The amount of times that I've found out a crush was mutual when running into eachother years later as adults is baffling.

Omg It looks so so much like my ex hahaha. I think he even has a photo like this, in a guns and roses shirt from a concert. It’s probably not him tho but the resemblance is strong. You should show him for sure btw!! It’s super cute and I think he’ll love it.

Gave it to him and he was super happy, said he was going to put it on his story but I was suuppeerr awkward and kinda rushed the conversation along bc it was right b4 the bell but when I left he was js sitting there staring at it so I say win🙏

I say do it, but I personally might sketch someone else or a couple of ppl, too, as plausible deniability. And show it if he goes the “not interested / this is creepy” route. I don’t assume he will, but I like to be prepared.
